Knowledge Base — Brand Voice & Context Injection

The Knowledge Base (KB) lets you store reference information that the AI reads during content generation. Brand guidelines, product facts, competitor data, style rules, and any other context you want the AI to follow when writing your articles.

How the KB Connects to Generation

When you generate articles, the system injects your selected KB items into the AI prompt as context. The AI treats this context as ground truth. If your KB says "our brand voice is casual and witty," the AI writes in that tone across every article in the batch.

KB items appear in the Context Injector panel on the Generator page, where you select which items to include per batch.

Accessing the Knowledge Base

Click the knowledge base section from within your Project Management panel, or access it from the dedicated KB view. The page shows your active project name in gold text next to the title.

Creating a KB Item

The left panel shows the Add New Item form:

  1. Title — A short label for the item (e.g., "Brand Voice," "Product Specs," "Competitor Analysis")
  2. Content — The actual reference text. Write as much detail as you need. The AI receives the full content at generation time.
  3. 🌐 Apply to all projects (Global) — Toggle this checkbox to make the item appear across every project

Click Add to KB to save. The item appears in the list on the right.

If no project is active and the Global toggle is off, the "Add to KB" button stays disabled. Either select a project or mark the item as global.

Project Scoping

KB items belong to a specific project unless marked as global:

  • Project-scoped items only appear when that project is active
  • Global items (🌐 badge) appear in every project's KB list
  • The helper text below the global toggle tells you exactly where the item will appear

Editing Items

Click the ✏️ Edit button on any KB item card. The form switches to edit mode with:

  • A gold banner at the top showing "Editing: [item title]"
  • The form pre-filled with the item's current title, content, and global status
  • An Update Item button replacing the "Add to KB" button
  • A Cancel Edit button (both in the banner and next to the update button)

Deleting Items

Click the 🗑️ Delete button on any item card. A confirmation dialog appears before the item is permanently removed.

Drag and Drop

Each KB item has a ⋮⋮ drag handle on the left side. Drag items to reorder or move them between projects. The item becomes semi-transparent during the drag operation.

Creating Projects

If you don't have a project yet, a + New Project button appears in the header. Click it to reveal an inline form where you type a project name and hit Create or press Enter. You can have up to 5 projects.

Best Practices

Use Case Example KB Item
Brand tone "Write in a conversational, friendly tone. Avoid jargon. Use short paragraphs."
Product context "Our SaaS tool integrates with Slack, Notion, and Asana. Pricing starts at $29/mo."
Formatting rules "Always use H2 for main sections, H3 for subsections. Include a table in every article."
Competitor intel "Main competitors: ToolX ($49/mo, weaker API), ToolY (free tier but no support)."
Writing constraints "Never mention competitor pricing directly. Always include a CTA linking to /demo."
