My Thoughts On Dell XPS 15 After 1 Month Of Use
First Impression
Right off the bat, I must say the Dell XPS 15 is quite the piece of tech. When I first unboxed it, I was in awe – the slim bezels around its gorgeous screen, the soft and premium feel of its keyboard, and let’s not forget about that immense trackpad.
Performance & Usability
I have to admit that this laptop suited my personal needs perfectly well. With regular use involving browsing, watching videos, listening to music and using Microsoft Office applications for about a month now, it has handled everything smoothly. The laptop can handle multiple tabs open at once without overheating too much – sure it gets warm but nothing unusual.
What’s more is with a little bit of tweaking here and there – updating Dell drivers, getting rid of unnecessary apps like McAfee and Dell PremierColor (which only seemed to mess up video colors), this baby can really hum along nicely!
However, I have noticed a significant variance in battery life: sometimes it lasts all day while at other times it requires charging after just 4-5 hours.
Design & Aesthetics
The design feels fresh yet robust thanks to its metal casing. The kevlar-made palm rest combined with a soft-touch finish makes for comfortable typing sessions. Even though my wife complained about its weight (just over 4 lbs), I personally didn’t find an issue with that – considering that such weight for a 15″ laptop would’ve been considered light just about a decade ago.
Caveats
Now onto some drawbacks – the camera quality is below par. It’s sufficient for Zoom meetings but don’t expect high-quality images from this one – disappointing considering we’re living in 2020s.
Moreover, there is no built-in CD/DVD drive which was somewhat inconvenient for me as I had to buy an external one – not something everyone might need these days but worth noting nonetheless.
Additionally, while the touchpad works great overall – both left and right mouse-clicks stopped working after some time which required me to resort to using an external Bluetooth mouse.
Lastly, if you still rely on old-fashioned USB-A ports then you might be better off looking elsewhere as this one only comes with USB-C ports – manageable in my case via included dongle but still something worth noting especially because docking stations for this model are pricey.
The Audio Experience
A quick note on audio quality: built-in speakers are okay-ish; however any sort of bass causes a buzzing sound from the body of the laptop creating an annoying experience so you’re better off using headphones or external speakers when listening to louder music or watching content with high bass levels.
The Verdict
All said and done – despite some drawbacks which might be deal-breakers depending on your specific needs – I found myself quite satisfied with my Dell XPS 15 experience overall. It offers seamless performance packed within stylish aesthetics making it worth its steep price-point; especially if like me your work involves less power-intensive tasks.

With a whopping 32GB DDR5 Memory, multitasking has never been easier on this laptop; there’s always room to open more tabs and apps without any lag whatsoever. The Backlit Keyboard makes working at night a breeze. Combined with Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 technology for seamless internet connection and Bluetooth 5 Combo for easy device pairing – it’s all very neat!
Finally yet importantly is the impressive battery life. This machine packs an enormous 86 Wh Li-ion battery,. Even under heavy workload conditions; I rarely find myself quickly reaching for my charger
Overall, from its fast performance to its stunning display – every day of use feels like a treat with Dell’s Precision 5570! Trust me when I say that this laptop has made both workdays productive & downtime enjoyable!
